Carbon Group Presents 'Stroke For Stroke' Fundraising Cheque

Carbon Group is delighted to announce that the recent ‘Stroke for Stroke’ golf classic has raised over €10,000 for Cork Stroke Support Group.

Carbon Group presents a fundraising cheque for over €10,000 to Cork Stroke Support Group.

As main sponsor of the sporting event, Carbon Group helped to publicise and promote the golf classic that took place at Mahon Golf Course on 27th April, 2019. Several members of management and staff at Carbon Group also participated in the event which took the format of a three-ball scramble and featured separate men’s and women’s competitions.

The cheque presentation took place at City Hall with Lord Mayor Cllr Mick Finn on hand to congratulate all involved in the fundraising efforts.

Cork Stroke Support Group (CSSG) was launched in 2010 with the support of the Irish Heart Foundation. Focused on addressing the needs of those affected by stroke (both survivors and family members), CSSG is considered one of the most successful stroke support groups in the country. CSSG obtained a HSE excellence award in 2016, the Cork City Lord Mayor’s Award for Social Inclusion & Equality in 2014 and Irish Heart Foundation Awards in 2012 and 2013.

The support group meets at The Activity Centre, St Finbarr’s Hospital (Douglas Rd) on the last Wednesday of every month. Find out more about Cork Stroke Support Group on https://www.corkstrokesupport.ie/
