GE Healthcare is hoping to invest €150 million in a new biopharmaceutical manufacturing campus in Ringaskiddy.

Carbon Group has warmly welcomed the announcement which is expected (subject to planning permission) to see four GE ‘KUBio factories’ constructed on an IDA Ireland site in the Loughbeg area of Ringaskiddy.

>> What are ‘KUBio factories’?

KUBio building modules are pre-fabricated factory modules pre-designed to
meet all regulatory and quality requirements.

GE will provide centralised shared utilities and site services for these factory modules.

>> Potential Job Creation?

Subject to contract and planning permission, the construction phase is expected to begin by mid-2017 and be completed over an 18-month build schedule.

By 2019, GE expects to have taken on 100 new employees.

By 2019/2020, a fully-operational campus could be in operation – this may see as many as 400 jobs created by KUBio tenants.
