Carbon Group Dedicates Christmas Charity Donations in Memory of Carol Deegan, RIP:
Dec 5, 2024
In Lieu of Corporate Christmas Gifting, Carbon Group Has Made Donations to Three Cancer Charities
As the festive season approaches and the calendar year comes to a close, we, here at Carbon Group, are taking stock of another year in business; we’re working our way through the annual end-of-year ‘to-do’ lists, tasks and deadlines, as well as reaching out to customers and clients to extend our warmest Christmas wishes.
However, in addition to the annual end-of-year festivities, ‘to-do’ lists, tasks and deadlines, the conclusion of 2024 also focuses our thoughts on the loss of our dearly missed colleague, Carol Deegan.
Last September, as many of you are undoubtedly aware, we were extremely saddened to hear of Carol’s passing following a short illness. Carol Deegan was an Area Sales Manager (Pharma-chemicals) at Carbon Group and had been with our company since 1998.

Anyone who knew Carol Deegan will know that Carol had an outstanding talent for her job and an enviable capacity for connecting with people.
No matter their age, interests or background, Carol was always able to find common ground to spark a conversation and share a few moments of chat and connection. Her wide-ranging technical knowledge and her personable approach made Carol extremely popular among both colleagues and clients alike.
At the time of her passing, Carbon Group Managing Director, Brian Walsh, spoke about Carol’s enduring legacy:
“Carol has been a valued member of our team since she joined Carbon in 1998, having spent most of her earlier career with BP Chemicals; Carol’s vast knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry was apparent from the very start. She quickly set about sharing her experience and knowledge with everyone in the company.
At the same time, she was also building her network of customers and developing a new range of products specifically targeting the pharma sector with the higher grades of products required to meet these customer requirements.
Part of Carol’s legacy will be how she is remembered for her loyalty and dedication to her customers, who will miss her fondly and remember the many good times spent with her. She was a true legend in the industry, widely known, a unique person, very focused, very driven, very determined and loved by all.
Carol’s generosity was legendary, both to her customers and Carbon staff. In particular, her chocolate hampers at Christmas, were just a small reminder of the generosity she showed to us throughout the years.”

Once again this Christmas, here at Carbon Group, we’ve decided to celebrate the spirit of the festive season by making donations to a selection of charities that are meaningful to our team members.
This is in lieu of sending corporate Christmas gifts and is an approach that has been received positively in recent years.
As a mark of respect to Carol’s memory and as a gesture to her family, this year, Carbon Group is making donations to three extremely worthy cancer charities.
“I am sure you will all agree with me when I say that Carol was a huge presence in Carbon; one of a kind, larger than life, a true diamond and she will always be remembered for the wonderful person she was.
We will all miss her dearly”.
