AkzoNobel / Liveable Cities Initiative

Oct 17, 2016

The Power of urban renewal – AkzoNobel has been leading the way in terms of urban-based corporate social responsibility projects.

Here’s yet another inspiring ‘liveable cities’ initiative: at the UN’s Habitat III event, AkzoNobel has helped create a vertical garden.

The concept? To transform bleak expanses of concrete into a colorful and more attractive space for local residents.

At this time of the year, as skies become slightly greyer and the evenings begin to grow longer, colourful and creative urban landscapes can boost our mood and help to make our cities more welcoming and inspiring environments.

The garden has no soil and is based on a hydroponic system, which uses micronutrients supplied by AkzoNobel to provide essential minerals for the plants!
