Organisers of the acclaimed Fort 2 Fort Charity Cycle have presented Carbon Group with a special commemorative jersey as a thank you gesture for the company’s ongoing support.

As 2025 drew to a close, Carbon Group was delighted to welcome Fort 2 Fort Charity Cycle’s founder, Sam Beamish, to Carbon Group’s Ringaskiddy headquarters.
Sam presented Brian Walsh (MD, Carbon Group) and Joey Gullion (CEO, Shrieve Chemical) with a framed commemorative jersey in recognition of Carbon Group’s support for the charity event in recent years.
Background:
The Fort 2 Fort Charity Cycle is an annual cycling event in Cork that raises funds for the Mercy University Hospital Foundation’s ‘Cancer Appeal’, along with four local Lions Clubs (Cork, Carrigaline, Cóbh and Bishopstown).
With a starting point at the historic Camden Fort Meagher, close to Crosshaven, County Cork, cyclists take a route around Cork Harbour that offers scenic views, combined with the camaraderie of cyclists (of all abilities) who are keen to raise money for worthy local charities.
Carbon Group will once again be one of Fort 2 Fort’s key sponsors when the event takes place again this year.
More information:
Fort 2 Fort Charity Cycle organisers provide options for 60 km, 90 km or 120 km routes around Cork Harbour.
Cyclists who would like to register for the 2026 event should check local media for event announcements over the coming weeks; they should also keep an eye on the official Fort 2 Fort Charity Cycle Facebook page.
Since its launch in 2012, Fort 2 Fort has raised more than €400,000 for its beneficiaries.
